Five one-of-one press plates
For some collectors, there is a certain thrill behind pulling a press plate from a pack of cards. With 2016-17 Leaf Plates Hockey, the fun is multiplied as there will be five press plates inside each box that helped create cards in several recent releases from Leaf Trading Cards. With an expected release date in November, this product is expected to be extremely limited as less than 100 cases will be made. Each card is unique as it represents the inks used within the four-color, or CMYK, printing process – cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.
There will be a total of less than 4,000 one-of-one cards released in boxes of 2016-17 Leaf Plates Hockey and draw from 2015-16 hockey releases such as Genesis and Heroes & Prospects. These products featured junior players from the Canadian Hockey League such as Nolan Patrick and Pierre-Luc Dubois along with legends such as Gordie Howe and Maurice Richard. Collectors should note that the plates do not include pieces of memorabilia like the finished cards have.
